We are finally opening our first physical store in our hometown of Uppsala! Week 41 in October we open the door. The Sofie Sjöström design store is located 150 meters from the central station at Bangårdsgatan 10 (crossing Dragarbrunnsgatan). Here you can find Sofies Sjöström's entire design range, art posters and a handful of original paintings and also a few carefully selected design brands. We hope to become a joyful addition to the gift trade in Uppsala, full of colors and patterns!
ABOUT ART
In recent years, Sofie Sjöström has frequently exhibited her original paintings at various galleries, mainly in Mälardalen. She mostly paints abstractly and finds it especially interesting how colors interact with each other. It is an inexhaustible exploration on her part that never ends. She has created many of her motifs into products such as scarves, art posters, umbrellas and mouse pads.

With our colorful and patterned fabrics, carpets, interior details, art and furniture, we want to create extra joy and energy for everyday life. Our vision is that furniture and products that touch you are more cherished and kept for longer - perhaps for a lifetime to the next generation. Then we have succeeded.
MANUFACTURING
We always try to manufacture our products as locally as possible for environmental reasons, but also to have control over quality and how production takes place. We are proud to be able to manufacture all our carpets, furniture and many of our products in Sweden today.
About designer Sofie Sjöström
During the past 27 years Sofie Sjöström has established herself on the Swedish design scene. After graduating in 1997 as an industrial designer from Umeå Institute of Design and being awarded the coveted prize of “Best Graduating Design Student” in Sweden she started Futur industridesign AB and began her career as a freelance designer. Sjöström has developed products, furniture and concepts from cell phone accessories to airplane seats. In the year 2000 she won a competition to design seats for Scandinavian Airlines, SAS. In 2001 she was awarded the “Excellent Swedish Design” prize for her cell phone accessory for the hearing impaired. In 2004 she was asked to sit as a jury member during the prestigious Spring Salon “Formbart” held at Liljevalchs Art Exhibition, Stockholm, Sweden.
In 2009 Sjöström launched her own brand Sofie Sjöström™ and took control of the whole process from design to production to sale. Her brand includes textile products and accessories for the home.
